"Nicholas Lochner, a well-known resident of Frederick, died at his home, 15 East Fifth street, last night at 7:40 o'clock of diabetes, aged 73 years and 9 days. Mr. Lochner was born in Echard, Sachsen-Meininger, Germany, and came this country with his parents when 10 years old, locating in Taneytown, MD. Three years later the family moved to this city, where he has since resided. About 1864 he began the business of pork butchering on the present site and continued the same until his death. He married Barbara A. Baumgardner, who survives him, with the following sons and daughters: George, Julius, and Harry, of this city; Charles, of York, Pa.; Mrs. Bradley Marman, Mrs. Edw. Gannon, this city, and Mrs. Charles T. Sullivan of Reading, Pa. He is also survived by one brother, Casper Lochner, of Mt. Pleasant, this county, and one sister, Mrs. Annie E. Craig, of Baltimore. His funeral will take place on Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Services will be held at his late home and interment will be made in Mt. Olivet cemetery."

"William Casper Lochner died Monterday(?) at 1:30 o'clock at the home of his son, Lewis Lochner, Mt. Pleasant, of general debility, aged 79 years and 29 days. He had been in failing health for more than a year. He is survived by five sons and three daughters. Lewis, William, and Edward, of Mt. Pleasant; Joseph, of Baltimore; and Charles M., of Woodboro; Mrs. George Snyder, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Clinton Nusbaum, Baltimore; Mrs. Harry Nusbaum, Walkersville. The funeral of Mr. Lochner will be held this morning at 10 o'clock from the home of his son Lews, in Mt. Pleasant, instead of in Union Chapel, Daysville, as previously announced. The change was made on account of the health order closing the churches during the epidemic. K. G. (?) is the undertaker in charge."
