Shared note
|
"She was born and raised on the Sloan farm North of McConnellsburg--the oldest daughter in a family of seven sons and three daughters, she was its most loved member. All her life she was loving and giving and sacrificing for those around her. She was one of God's own saints, living for her family and her church. Her death at fifty-four was a tragedy for her family. She is buried in the Presbyterian Churchyard beside the husband she so dearly loved. For several years after her death he never missed a day in going to her grave." Admitted to McConnellsburg Presbyterian Church on 3/17/1866 "on examination"; see "Into the Valleys Came Presbyterians", p. 59. |
