Unidentified Newsclipping - 1879
WAKEFIELD.--Mrs. Margaret Wakefield, widely known and loved in Central Pennsylvania for more than half a century, entered into rest from the residence of her son in Germany Valley, Huntingdon Co., October 30, 1879, aged 85. She was converted at seventeen, and united with the Methodist Episcopal church. She led a consistent Christian life. As the result of a deep Christian experience, and a large acquaintance with the word of God and the doctrines of our Church, her zeal for God was steady and increasing. In her eighty-third year she read the New Testament and Psalms through, and had completed a second reading to Timothy when sight failed. Her home will be long remembered by many an itinerant. Her house was a Bethel often to the faithful followers who met there to hear the word. The writer has been present when the power of God filled the place. She died triumphant.
