Mrs. Mary C. Anderson, wife of W. E. Anderson, died at her home in Petersburg on Sunday, September 29, 1940, at 12:30 p.m., after an illness of six months. She had been bedfast for one month prior to her death.

Born in Claysburg on July 28, 1874, a daughter of Francis Edward and Mary Rebecca (Rorer) Withington, she was aged at the time of death 66 years, two months and one day. She had been a resident of Petersburg since 1890. She was a member of Crever Memorial Methodist church of Petersburg and of the Ladies Aid society of that church.

Surviving are her husband, W. E. Anderson; two daughters: Mrs. Rebecca Mitchell, of Petersburg, and Mrs. Ella Mae Nace, of Catonsville, Md.; three sons: Philip K. Anderson, of Rahway, N.J.; Thomas E. Anderson, of Petersburg, and Edward W. Anderson, of Altoona. Three sisters: Mrs. Ella V. Jackson, of Waterloo, Iowa; Mrs. Carrie M. Williams, of Williamsport, and Mrs. Julia M. Morton, of Petersburg, also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at her late home in Petersburg, conducted by the Rev. Charles Diehl. Interment will be made in Cedar Grove cemetery by Temple's funeral service.

Friends may call at the late home after 7 o'clock this evening.
